SPIRITUAL DOUGHNUTS

Doughnuts -- Makes me hungry just thinking of them! Especially Crispy Creme!

Today's blog is something I copied from a real old Sunday School paper. Have no idea when or what the periodical was -- not even whom to credit as the author.

"What is a doughnut?

"'Nothin' with a rim around it! A big zero with a border. A hollow surrounded with a fence. That's a doughnut!

"Paul said, 'For I know nothing by myself' (I Cor. 4:41).

"We were merely the hole in the doughnut before Christ saved us! We were spiritually empty, lonely, and had no purpose in life, other than pleasing ourselves.

"But now that we are Christians, Christ has rimmed our lives. He has surrounded us. Our wills are lost in His! Now, we should have power and influence.

"Jesus said, 'For without me ye can do nothing' (John 15:5). But if we accept Him as Saviour and Lord, He gives us power so that, as Paul said, 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me' (Phil. 4:13).

"Don't be a doughnut! Let Christ rim your life today."

Preacher's Kid
P.S. And the closest thing I have to a doughnut in the motor home is a bran muffin! Yuk! Thanks, but no thanks!
